Wix
What the App Is
The ProxyAI app puts a chat bubble on your Wix site and gives you the whole of ProxyAI inside your Wix dashboard: bot setup, channels, add-ons, agent inbox, tickets, usage and rates.
The bubble is the same widget ProxyAI serves everywhere else. Wix is where you install and configure it, not a different product.
Installing gives you a free chatbot with a welcome credit, already set up with your site's name and address. Wix never bills you for the app — add-ons and credit are paid by card in the dashboard itself.
If you remove the app and install it again you come back to the same account: your bot, purchases and credits are still there. Duplicating a site is different — the copy is a new site to Wix, so it gets its own new free bot rather than a clone of the original's knowledge and settings.
Two Ways to Connect
The app is installed from ProxyAI, not searched for in the Wix App Market.
Starting from nothing. Open ProxyAI for Wix and press Connect. You choose the site and approve the permissions on Wix, and come back with an account and a working bot — no form to fill in and no password to pick.
From a bot you already have. In the ProxyAI dashboard, open the bot, go to Chatbot setup → Wix and press connect. Same two steps on Wix, and you return to the panel, which now shows the connected site with Show the chat bubble, Hide it and Disconnect.
Disconnecting takes the bubble off the site and stops the bot reading the catalogue. The app itself stays installed until you remove it in Wix.
The Chat Bubble
Nothing appears on your site until the bubble is switched on: Settings → Chat bubble on your site. With it on, the bubble is on every page — there is no page to edit and no code to paste.
Two things decide whether a visitor actually sees it:
- Your site must be published. An unpublished site has no pages for the bubble to land on, and switching it on will fail until you publish.
- Your cookie banner decides. The bubble is a functional script, so a visitor who declines functional cookies gets no bubble. That is your site's own banner at work, not a fault.
Try it here on the same card opens the real widget inside the dashboard, so you can ask it something without leaving. Open my site opens your published site in a new tab.
The Dashboard
Above the tabs sits the header — your bot's name, your site address, your credit balance with a + for top-ups, and an Open my site link. With Human Handoff you also get the agent avatar and name your customers see after a transfer. Below that, a spend chart and a breakdown of what the spend went on.
Then the tabs:
- Add-ons — what you own, what you can add, and the buy buttons.
- Chatbot setup — everything about the bot itself: Bot Identity, the sections your add-ons unlock, and Channels. With the Wix store add-on on a site that has Wix Stores, you also get a Store actions section.
- Agent inbox — live conversations transferred by Human Handoff.
- Tickets — your customers' support tickets. Only appears when Helpdesk Connect is using the built-in desk; with Gorgias or Zendesk connected you work those tickets in that desk.
- Usage & costs — everything your bot has spent, item by item.
- Model rates — your own rates, plus a calculator for estimating a month. They are shown here rather than as a link out, because store pricing differs from the public price list.
- Settings — the chat bubble switch, content sync, usage alerts, and the form for contacting ProxyAI support.
Two things called support, so it is worth separating: Tickets is your customers' support queue, Settings → Support is where you raise something with us.
Answering From Your Own Content
With Bot Knowledge, the bot answers from your site rather than from its identity alone.
- Chatbot setup → Bot Knowledge → Sync my site content reads your pages, blog posts and product descriptions. Run it again after you publish something new, or to sweep everything rather than the most recent items.
- Settings → keep my content in sync does it for you: publish or update a post or product and the bot's knowledge is refreshed within a few minutes.
Channels Beyond Your Site
Nothing about the Wix app limits the bot to your site. Open Chatbot setup → Channels and connect WhatsApp, Telegram, LINE, Messenger, Instagram or Discord exactly as on the web dashboard — the same cards, the same dialogs.
Store Actions
On a site with Wix Stores and the Wix store add-on, the bot can answer about real products, prices and stock, and help a shopper put an order together.
One difference from Shopify worth knowing: on Wix the bot cannot change a cart the shopper already has open. Instead it gathers the order and hands them a link that opens a checkout already filled in — on your site and on chat channels alike.
Credits and Billing
- Add-ons and top-ups are one-time charges, paid by card in the dashboard. Nothing renews by itself, and none of it appears on a Wix invoice.
- Some add-ons can be taken free in exchange for a small "Powered by ProxyAI" line under your chat.
- Credits are what the bot spends as it answers, checks your store and searches your content. A typical reply costs a fraction of a cent; the Model rates tab works it out properly.
- Top up from the + beside the credit balance. Amounts run from $10 to $1000.
- Settings → usage alerts warns you before the balance runs out. A bot with no credit stops replying, so leave this on.
- The price you paid is fixed at the moment of purchase — a later price change never affects it.
Test It
- Open your published site and confirm the bubble appears. If it does not: the site is unpublished, the switch in Settings is off, or you declined functional cookies in your own banner — try a private window.
- Ask a question your bot should know from its identity and, with Bot Knowledge, from your posts and pages.
- With the Wix store add-on, ask about a real product and its price, then ask to buy it and check the checkout link that comes back.
- With Human Handoff, ask for a person and confirm the conversation lands in Agent inbox.
- Open Usage & costs — every one of those messages should be listed.
If the dashboard itself will not load, reload the page in your Wix dashboard — a tab left open for a long time can go stale.
